Planning permission for two new Health Centres in Eccles and Pendleton was approved by Planners on Thursday 16th March 2006.
The new Health Centre in Eccles will be built in the heart of the town on the site of the existing Library and will adjoin the 1906 built Carnegie-bequest building.

The Health Centre will comprise a one-stop-shop, community facilities, children's library, cafe, GP Surgeries, dental and clinical facilities.

Pendleton's Health Centre is to be located on Lime Close and will be a 3 storey building, delivering a modern, mixed use centre for Health & Social Care. It will be integrated with a range of specialist children's services. The centre will provide the 'single front door' to access all non-emergency services for children.

Also to be based in the centre will be GP surgeries, a walk-in-centre (including minor injuries), dentistry and Physiotherapy.
