The Rt.Hon. Andy Burnham MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury officially opened the new state-of-the-art £4.7m NHS Forum Health Centre in Wythenshawe on Monday 16th July 2007.

In his speech Andy Burnham MP said “New Health Centres like the Forum Health offer first class facilities and services in a high quality environment that benefits both patients and staff. These new health centres make a real statement about how we are transforming the NHS, what the modern NHS is all about, and what it can provide.

“Forum Health makes a strong statement of what can be done in Manchester to make people healthier and happier. As always, Manchester is ahead of the game”.

The health centre provides a wide range of primary and community health care facilities including a walk-in-centre which is open 7 days a week and treats more than 100 patients a day.

There are 2 GP practices, with a combined practice list of 10,000 patients, dental facilities which include 7 treatment rooms, a dental school and podiatry services which see approximately 300 patients a week; all within the Health Centre.
