The new £2.8 million Willow Tree Healthy Living Centre on Littleton Road, Lower Kersal was opened on Friday 12th January 2007 by Hazel Blears MP for Salford.
After the opening ceremony the Health Centre was open for all guests and visitors to watch demonstrations put on by the various organisations which included Tai Chi, Dental Hygiene, Dietary advice and information, advice on how to stop smoking plus many more.

The new centre will house 5 GP’s, NHS Nursing and Community health services plus a Pharmacy which is scheduled to open in February. The Willow Tree is the second healthy living centre to open in the Charlestown and Lower Kersal New Deal for Communities area in the last 18 months.

Investment for the Willow Tree is provided via the MaST Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) an NHS initiative to develop and encourage a new market for Investment in primary and community based care facilities and services.
