A new one-stop health centre took a step closer to opening with the official handover of the facility to South Manchester Primary Care Trust (PCT).
The health centre, based in the Brownley Green area of Benchill, is expected to be open in early February and boasts facilities for two GP surgeries, dentistry, physiotherapy, podiatry, audiology and speech and language therapy.
Guests at the event, which included future patients and clinicians, were treated to a first look at the new centre, which will be open to the public in early February.
On receiving the keys to the new centre, Adrian Mercer, Chief Executive of South Manchester Primary Care Trust, said: "This is another significant milestone in the modernisation of NHS facilities here in South Manchester.
The Brownley Green Health Centre is our first LIFT scheme in partnership with the private sector and we are delighted it is being completed on-time and on-budget.
As well as providing modern facilities for 2 GP partnerships, it will enable a wider range of health services to be provided for the local population, which has some of the greatest health needs in the North West".
